kx2500 going into protect..

I got my kx2500 via UPS today from k4rts. I hooked it up and before I hooked up the subs I set the amp with a DMM. Hooked he subs up got in the car and turned up the head unit. Once I turned it up to where I set the amp the amp started kicking in and out of protection mode. My first thought was because I hooked it up at 1 ohm. So I unhooked one sub so I would be runnng it at 2 ohm. It did the same exact same thing at 2 ohm. I unhooked both subs and turned and I was able to turn the gain all the way up and everything and it wasn't kicking into protection mode. My speakers are wired correctly because it they worked just fine with my hifonics bx1605d at 1 ohm.

Any ideas? I am really upset right now.

Big 3 done with 2 guage wire

I was watching my volts on my cap and it stay in the low 11s.

I thought it might be my voltage too but I turn my heater up full blast and it still went into protect at the same spot.

Only reason I haven't taken it off yet is because it shows my voltage lol.

im sure my amp draws as much power as the 2500.1, and i dont have any problems like this. my alt is like 75amps with all stock wiring and stock battery

And...your not getting anywhere near the power out of that amp that you could...

it takes power to make power.

I hooked up the DMM while it was playing a song and the times it wasn't going into protect it was only showing 29 volts.

And it doesn't go into protect without a load hooked to it?

Im assuming you have Dual 4 speakers, Series one of them to 8 ohms, and see what that does.
