kx2500 going into protect..

I'm just gonna send it back to k4rts and get a refund. Then buy another one. I really dont think it is my electrical. I wasnt pushing the amp very hard at all. In fact I dont think it was louder than my Hifonics BX1605d. So something has to be wrong. There has got to be a pretty noticeable difference between a 1600 watt hifonics amp and a 2500 watt kicker amp.

if you can't get it figured out go ahead and send it back and ill have someone look at it i guess, because it was in working condition when i sent it out.

I am going to order some 0 guage wire either tonight or tomorrow morning. I will have a run of 0 guage just for the kx2500. Right now I have 4 guage. Then I am going to replace my ground with 0 guage and try to make it shorter. I am hoping that this will solve the problem.

what about turning the gains all the way down? doubt its your wiring.
The gain is less than half way.

i can say that this amp worked perfectly fine when he had it installed. saw it a few times and it never went into protect or got warm or anything.

I don't think too small of a wire would cause an amp to go into protect, it just wouldn't allow as much current to flow through as it should. I'd make sure your not grounding out anywhere and If it still does it at 2ohm which it's stable at That's kinda odd. I bet you have bare wires touching somewhere.

I changed absolutely nothing though switching from my hifonics to the kicker. Unhooked the hifonics which was working perfectly and plugged in the kicker. Im just thinkin the kicker needs more voltage than the hifonics. I figure my ground being so long is my biggest problem.
