KX1200.1 amps ??

around 85 to 90 amps peak.
Well Kicker recommends at least a 150 amp fuse. 150 amps x 14 volts = 2100w peak, so since class D amps are about 70% efficient, 2100w x 70% = 1470w. Most birthsheets for 03 and older KX1200.1 I've seen are about 1450w. The 04's are well over 1500w.

Yeah, mine was a ballpark figure. I know that on AB amps you get a more accurate amp draw figure by dividing by 12.

 
so does that mean one needs a cap for that???
No cap. They tend to hurt more than help.

What kind of vehicle?

I would suggest a battery upgrade to a deep cycle battery (like an Optima Yellow Top), BIG 3 upgrade, and alternator upgrade if possible.
