Konaki Subs?

You would want a recone anyway. The softparts are complete shit, and the spiders are laid out so crappy that they buckle and pop constantly.

I would just go with and HDC3 if it were my money. Very similar motor (basically a DD 9500 knock off with out all the internal cooling), you'd have a warranty, and you wouldn't have to worry about regluing tripple joints (IIRC) and swapping in soft parts with properly layered spiders.

I emailed Konaki to ask when their competition series subs came out and If the soft parts are the same as the older models. So if these are a newer model than there might be a chance that they upgraded their soft parts.

Did anyone figure out what Model Konaki sub people were talking about in 2007

No, There have the same motor as the Audioque HD3C.
Also, shares motors with a American Bass sub, XFL i think.

But the Konaki soft parts are terrible.

IMO, its a waste of time. Just go buy a Audioque for a little more money and have a whole quality sub.
The konaki motor is not the same as the hdc3, the gap on the hdc3 is wider. (different coils)
