Hello people,

I am just wondering how to tell what kind of fuze i am supposed to get. I have asked some buddies and they do not understand. It ranges from 20a to 300a (Fuze size?) I have a dodge intrepid 2002 and i am getting an Elemental Design Nine.1 with two 12 inch SDC2.5s (Dont know if you need to know that). Also, the wire i am getting is 0 gauge.

Thanks

just get the biggest knukonceptz will let you get. the fusing is there it protect the wire so the biggest theyll let you get the wire will be able to handle. Your amp has external fusing anyways.

OK, pretty simple then: 4 X 30Amps = 120 Amps = da fuse size you should get. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif Anything bigger and should there be a short you will fry the amp fer sure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/lightning.gif.3313d59263b518d6d89ddcbfead237d0.gif

The amp has its own fuses tard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif any other fusing is to protect the wire.

This, the fuse near the battery is there in case there is a short somewhere between the fuse and the amp. If the amp has it's own fuses I would get either the 250A or 300A, then if you decide to use a distro block in the future and get a second amp you do not need to replace the fuse.

If you do add a second amp later on make sure you get a fused distro block then select a fuse based on the wire coming out of the block, say you a #2 to your 9.1 and a #4 to your other amp. Then you'd fuse the #2 at 200A and the #4 at 125A.

From bcae1.com

Wire Gauge Recommended

Maximum Fuse Size

00 awg 400 amps

0 awg 325 amps

1 awg 250 amps

2 awg 200 amps

4 awg 125 amps

6 awg 80 amps

8 awg 50 amps

10 awg 30 amps

12 awg 20 amps

14 awg 15 amps

16 awg 7.5 amps

These are the recommended maximum fuse ratings for the corresponding wire size. Using a smaller fuse than what's recommended here will be perfectly safe.

get whatever the limit is on the wire. for example the KLMX wire onlu holds 250amps. You can go lower but never higher.
