sorry didnt read it all. If your alt is stock and thatold that very well could be the problem.. ya 180- would be more then enough. im a big fan of dc and while their customer support is not the best their alts are.next timke you call dc press 5 for kyle and tell him payden sent you and said to make you a good deal on it. and tell him get his *** to work.
thanks man. i will definitely try to give them a call again. im pretty sold on their alternators but **** i cant seem to get any good customer service.

 
thats not really what your battery is "charged" at technically its what your alt is charging at. when you first start it up it will be charging full bast to get your batt back upt o par. when it gets there it will back off into a normal charging range. most newer vehicles charge a hair over 15 when you start up then back off to 14.xx after a few minutes. Ditch the cap get a bigger batt. kinetik blows. you are better off with a deka. i would find an xs battery. You can find them from 150-300 depending onw hat model you get. i dont think you need a 3100 for that little of wattage. A solid g31 batt should suffice.
i just got the kinetik a month ago and im partially happy with it, but its not really doing the job. the cap, i always have to explain. i dont use the cap for its use, i use it cus it has a distribution block on it wit a volt meter. everything is wired up to it so i dont even touch it at all. as for batteries, i got the kinetick cus it was the one i looked into. im not sure what the equivalent of an 1800 is in another battery so i couldnt compare them too well.

and thanks for the tip on the alternator kicking in hard when i turn the car on and then backing off. that makes sense. one less thing im confused about now

i will be calling kyle at dc this monday and if i dont get a good outcome from them, then i will be going with excessive amperage

 
yeah without big 3 and h/o alt 100 batteries won't help you out, well that was a bit of exaggeration, but you get the point. gotta build from the ground up
lol. i wasnt opposed to a ho alt. i just wanted to make sure i defintely needed it before i go out and spend 4 hundred on an alt.

a lot of people run similar wattage set ups and they dont have problems on stock alt.

 
ya the dcs are bullet proof. o talked to kyle about mine iw as going to run a higher voltage setup and he said they would take 24V .. lol. cant break them things. and my 270s do 200@ idle.. hard to compare to anything else

how much did you get yours for?

i didnt get a chance to call them up yet, tomorrow i will. but i emailed them friday night, and i still havnt goten anything from them.

wana get this thing asap. just worried, cus i heard they LAG to build/send alts.
