kind of disappointed...

I don't agree or disagree with any of you. I do agree with the compnay's birthsheet if they are reputable. Their is a reason why they will post the INPUT VOLTAGE when doing those tests. I don't expect to get 1200w @ 12.4v if the birthsheet specifically states 13.8v.

yes, but it does not really matter at all, if just to say the build quality of the amplifier and to say it does what its rated for...

you will NEVER see that wattage in real life... for all the reasons previously listed

for example; if i have a 1500 rms amp rated @ 1ohm, and wire it to 1 ohm on a dual 2 ohm subwoofer, i will not see 1500rms if i clamped it and measured... its just not going to happen

anyone that says birthsheet are worthless needs to kick them selves in the nuts. right...so i guess your happy knowing that you ordered an amp that says it can potentially do 1200 watts but in fact is rated at 17V? at least a birthsheet tells you r amp meets expectations. try that with your hifonics.

and of course youll never see that power. but guess what...its all relative

let me ask you something ok that kicker puts out 1200 watts

ok now get a kicker amp that puts out 800 watts.

now of course your not gonna see that power...but do you seriously think that the 1200 watt amp isnt going to put out more power at the approximate same load? does that make sense or is your head so big with knowledge that your head cocks to the side and you cant read the screen smart guy? shit i guess id better order an amp that puts out 1k extra watts instead of the original 1k, just so that i know im getting the power i need.

solution: by a ****ing subwoofer, match an amp for subwoofers ****ing capability, if you get a birthsheet good at least you know you got an amp that has the potential to get there, and call it a ****ing day.

wow, thats a dumb example to say the least. Of course you're going to get more power from the 1200 watt kicker amp, it rated for more power. Now if you take a 1200 watt kicker amp with a birthsheet that says 1450 at 14.4 volts and you take a similar kicker 1200 watt amp with a birthsheet of 1250 at 14.4 volts. Do you really think you will hear an audible difference when hooked up in a car. Thats the point being made, i don't know what you're trying to prove.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

umm, i responsed to 2 different things ive read in this thread. one arguing why i think birthsheets are a good idea, and another one arguing why the argument "your never gonna see that power" is stupid. as i said, get a amp that matches what you need, in rated numbers (that you know it has the potential of doing because of the birthsheet) and call it a day.

My sheet looks odd. Everyones is colored and typed in. My watts is handwritten in and gives diff models and such. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Big deal, you bought the amp for its rated power, not for its underrated power since you didn't know what it would do, you just assumed. I got a Kicker ZX 2500.1 and its rated at 2500w @ 2 ohms, though I've seen several of birthsheets in the 2700-2900w range and mine only shows 2545w. Big deal, only 45 watts underrated, at least its gonna do what it claims. Plus, as others mentioned, you're not going to notice the difference. Even if it was a 300w difference you wouldn't notice at the amount of power you're getting. If you're in the lower power range then yeah it will make a difference. Compare a 300 watt increase to 50 watts and 1500w, thus 50-->350 or 1500-->1800. You will notice the difference from the first power rating but not the second....and the only difference is gonna be in .x db if anything, and it will be under half a decibel for sure.
