Well, i wasn't planning on starting a build log because I am waiting on a few things. However i made some crap tonight i wanted to post so i figure i will do it now...

first thing here is a run down of me system:

Clarion DXZ675USB (honestly, i just thought the sliding face thing was sweet...)

"Big 3" with 1/0

300A Ohio Gen. alt with ext. regulator and slightly smaller pulley

1) KHC16V battery (kintetik 12V/16V)

2) PowerMaster D1000's (in the trunk)

2) runs of 2/0 for the amp

1) SoundStream XXX-6500D (running at 1.5ohm)

1) Atomic APX18

2) Pairs of SoundStream TRC.6n components

1) CRUNCH P1800.4 (for the speakers, 225W rms @ 4ohm per channel)

lots of sound deadener

my old system was a VX2200D and an HDC315 with some Eclipse coax. metered around a 145~ legal at the windshield with no deadener and no electrical upgrades at all... I am hoping to do it better this time.

Some pics of the progress already made:

sound deadener (i know... everyone hatin' on the FatMat...)

Got boresd tonight... needed adapters for 6X9 - 6.5" but i didn;t haev any wood. I DID however have a bunch of 1/2" and 3/4" plexi laying around, so i grabbed a sheet of 1/2" and got busy. They will not be seen so i wasn't worried about them looking good so you shouldn't be either ; ) and yes i know the tweeet is pretty much a waste pointing up at the rear window but i am NOT cutting up my leather or having them dangle so... deal with it : )

Here is the speaker goodness...

a little something i made up for the front speakers as they where originaly 4" and i couldn't come CLOSE to fitting a 6.5" in there, even if i cut teh door to shit and everything. plus the depth would have made tehm hit the window when it was down so...

They have since been wrapped in leather that is an EXACT match to my interior. Funny story on how i got the leather (factory Cadillac leather) if anyone wants to know, feel free to ask and i can share the story.

THIS was factory:

then i went to THIS:

Not great or anything but....

Went to all of the fabric stores and couldn;t find ANYTHNG that even came close to the right color. So i then went ot the dealership who said they CAN get some of the OEM fabric however it was like $100+ per yard. So while screwing around in my trunk i Realized there is a piece about 18" X 18" that they use to cover the hole when the rear armrest is down.

At this time i call all the junkyards and can;t find anything. So we start going to car lots looking for a Cadillac with the same interior. We finaly found a couple at two different lots so I simply took them for a test drive and while out folded the arm rest down and yanked out the piece i needed... put the arm rest back up and returned the car to the lot and left...
