Killer Sub Install

Hey guys what do you think about this kind of install. I am doing a sponsored bass instlall using JL Audio, Crown, and Audiobahn components. I am thinking about buying a Frod E-350 extended 15 passenger van and making a killer bass install with 8 18" subwoofers. I am going to strip the back of the van clear (up till the front two seats) and lay concrete blocks on the ceiling (reinforced) walls and floor. There will be 4 18" drivers in the back and 4 in the front (maybe one audiobahn 34" in the back) this box will have a Vas of 11,000 litres. I will set up multiple power inverters so that i can power the whole thing with 2 Crown CE-4000 amps. The suspention will be changed to air of course. (to hold the ton of stuff on it). In the front there will be 4 JL Audio 18" W3s and in the back there will be either 4 audiobahn Linear Compression 18" or one 34". With this kind of install i will be able to go down to 14 Hz clean and at something like 112 db sensitivity. I dont know what head unit to use yet so im open for that suggestion. Tell me what you think!

If you're anywhere serious in making a van ... you've got some ways to go ... learning wise.

Mixing the brands of subwoofers doesn't make sense.

Using a 34" at the best of times makes zero sense ... never mind trying to throw it in there in the first place.

I too can pull 14hz and a 112 sensitivity out of my *** ... how in the hell did you come up with that.

I, personally know that mixing brands makes no sense but this is a sponsored project i am doing for a local dealer.

I also know that using the 34" makes no sense but again this is advertising. I got the numbers from a program called Unibox. I would like to see 14Hz Fs at 112 db in your car. Right. Any advice for the head unit??? I have a total budget of $100,000

Did I say I could get a "14hz Fs and a sensitivity of 112 db" in my car ? Didn't think so ... what I said was ... "I too can pull those numbers out of my ***", meaning, they mean complete jack shit.

With $100, 000 ... I'd start with a different vehicle.

What kind of vehicle would u do?

I say, give me the Van and the money, and I'll handle the rest. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
This thing is just advertising i am getting $15,000 to do this job so if you have anything better to suggest just tell me.

Hmmm, demo vehicle...

$100k...

Chevy SSR. JL subs and components and amps. Use Audiobahn wiring if you have to use something from them, I've yet to see crappy wire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . Swap the JL amps for JBL/Crown to get Crown into the mix.

i cant use JL amplifiers. It has to be pure Crown. As for the Audiobahn issue i need to use at least one of their subs to meet the requirements the dealer set. Thanx

SSR would be sick.

Have the audiobahn speakers inside the cab, crown amps and subs in the back under the tonneau cover.

Fully fiberglass the back and mount the subs and the amps in the bed. That would be badass.

B.S.

NO offence, but you sound like some lil kid running off at the mouth... Or Keyboard....

I'm gonna need some serious pics....

Why would any dealer with any sense give you a 100K to work with and pay you 15K?

If your were that kinda guy that someone would entrust this kinda money too, I'd think you would not need us to help you... Not that I have a problem with helping you, just sounds like B.S......

Whats the Name of this shop????

Sniff, Sniff

yep,

something smells fishy on this thing.

I however would try to make the thing sound as good as it possibly can. Be different these days. Using that much stuff is of course going to be loud, but make it sound good as well.
