go**** shops around here charge 400+ for custom boxes less than these by far.....

For a single 15" Fi BL box built by a local shop I payed 300 W/o any frills, no carpet, just a box made out of 1" MDF:*******:

That was stupid....

IMHO, I think most box builder prices are getting out of hand, last time I checked mdf was not made of gold, and guys charging $20+for a design? thats insane

I would agree that shops overcharge since most of them don't even know what they're doing.

$20+ for a design only seems high because there are people on here that do it dirt cheap and who knows how qualified they are to even charge anything...the fact that about 95% of car audio market spends a lot on equipment and throws it in a poorly designed and/or built enclosure is sad. It's pretty simple, the box is incredibly important to the overall performance and is well worth the investment.

Personally, I will sell designs but I would much rather build it also since I have no control over the quality of construction when only selling plans. Good designs take time to plan and draw up so obviously you need to pay for an experts time and knowledge. Box calculators are good for an average person with an average install, but beyond that there is way more involved that requires testing and experience.

I've been designing and building custom boxes and systems for sound quality since 1988,competed in numerous Iasca sound off events taking several 2nd and 3rd place trophies including placing 6th at spring break nationals with dave the "fishman", out of nearly 500 competitors it was a serious accomplishment since i didn't have any sponsorship backing me? Now it seems there is a huge turn toward just loud bass and hardly any sound quality systems comparetively speaking! There are alot of wood jockeys building raw MDF boxes really cheap,doesn't mean there any good? I build quality finished boxes,taking it to a science including the vehicle it's going in and that cost real $$.

This isn't 100% live, but we wanted to launch this so people will be able to contact us and see a little of what we are all about.

The site will be 100% over the next month i'm sure as we get our production rolling.

agreed on the design thought... just because you popped over onto re audio's website and used their box calculator doesn't make you a box designer... there is way to much math and engineering for the average person when it comes to designing boxes. It's all in the enclosure.

wow....not gonna lie I'm still laughing at the $300+ you said you paid. That box takes $60 in materials and 3 hours of my time

Thank you. We are very proud of these. Not everyone has time, energy, or the know how to build their own, in fact, most people don't. This is way this becomes the best option for output and SQ for a pre-built enclosure.

What terminals did you use in the first enclosure? Can you send a link? You caulk or glue them in?
