kill switch for subs

have kill switch installed. its an illuminated switch. i have the switch hooked up to my remote wire for amp so can turn amp off so it doesnt use up all my car battery. the switch has 3 connectors power, acc, and ground. right now i have the remote wire split. stereo end hooked to power and amp end hooked to ground. but the switch doesnt light up. anybody know how i can wire it so the switch lights up.

hook up a constant 12v source to the power you remote wire to the acc and run a wire from the ground to where you head unit is grounded or the ground wire on your hu harness

bryan, no.... ditch the switch and use the remote wire from the back of the head unit, unless you dont have an aftermarket HU. If you dont have an aftermarket HU, find the wiring diagram for an illuminated switch and wire it as directed

ok i will tap into yellow wire that powers my stereo and hook to power. and ground to where my stereo grounds. but what bout my remote wire. it goes from stereo to amp. how would that hook up. since already split would both just hook into the acc part?

ok, so just hook up the remote wire on the back of the hu to the amp, there is really no need for the switch, but if you do want one, just put the remote wire from your hu to the power on the switch then go from the acc on the switch to the amp, you shouldnt need a ground and this will eliminate the problem of you forgetting and leaving the amps on all the time

well hooked up remote to power and acc and light didnt light up. then got a separate wire and did a ground and it lite up. but the the ground wire starting getting red on the switch. so guess i cant have a lighted switch then

Run a wire from the remote turn on from the back of the hu (blue usally) to the remote terminal on the amps. The amps will turn on/off with the hu. No need for a switch

yeah i know theres no need for the switch i was just wantin a switch because when i have my nephew in the car his ears are sensative. and i just thought itd be cooler to have an illuminated switch. maybe later i will try and find out a way to have the switch light up.

Well here is the deal. Run the switch between the remote turn on on the hu and the amps. That way the amps will always be off when the car is off.
