which models ?Remember those older Earthquake amps are high in THD, like 5% or something?
I was looking at doing a single 12 SQ install and use this for my sub amp...I'll use my SX Kicker amps on my mids and highsThe thing is, if you are running 10 000 watts, sq is not going to be your top concern and 1.5%will not be a problem
I agree completely. I hook a lot of car audio amps up in my house, and the thd is made very obvious with a proper pair of speakers. I hook my amps up through a kinetic to my Infinity RS 2.5's, and those speakers have the ability to easily display the quality of any musical nuance. Hooked up to my 1988 Sony car amp, I notice absolutely zero distortion, so I'm guessing the thd must be extremely low. However, when I hook up an Earthquake PA series amp, the distortion is very prevalent. At first i thought the caps were bad, but it seems that it's just high thd...Golden ears? Try turning your home stereo up to 70% volume with NO material playing. Hear that hiss? That's your signal to noise ratio. Now, imagine playing music through that hiss and having EVERY little blip, click, pop, and digital wonk sound coming through at 5000+ watts.
There's a reason subs sound a lot louder, fuller, and cleaner on a huge *** class A/B amp pushed at 0.1% THD compared to one running at 5%. You can always rate it like the old Rockford Punch 45 amps at 10% THD and have a loud setup that sound hollow and noisy! Real balla there!
as you just said you was hooking up your DDZ to it lulzI was looking at doing a single 12 SQ install and use this for my sub amp...I'll use my SX Kicker amps on my mids and highs

I have a little old school guy that helps take care of that in my rideGolden ears? Try turning your home stereo up to 70% volume with NO material playing. Hear that hiss?
