I think you would see more out of the SX. Aren't the12" L7's only rated at 750 RMS. The SX's are 1000RMS so you can probably take advantage of that 1100 RMS from the Hifonics you will be running to it.

My 15" SX is in 4 cube ported tuned to 31hz and it is plenty loud for me. DVC2 wired at 1 ohm using an older Directed 1500D. A 140.6 legal at 41 hz on a TL.

its going into a 99 mustang gt convertible and i want to have some room for other things. so im thinking my box isnt going to be anymore than 2cft and im going ported at about 33hz with the hifonics bxi1608d which will be giving it 1100 watts at 2ohms. will that box even fit inside the trunk of the mustang after being built? the opening is not very big at all for the trunk? anyone with a mustang and pics?

I have a 2cft box tuned to 32hz in the trunk my 00 mustang, they are the same as your car, it was a ***** getting it in though, and that video is of my trunk.

and if you haven't bought a sub why don't you get a d2 so you can run at 1ohm and get more power, or get the power for cheaper.

he designed mine, he might still have the plans.

it was a ***** to build because of the slant in the trunk, so he put the port horizontally out at the bottom, cutting those angles were also hard.

either sub you get, your box will mean more decided on were you wanna go with the system. So don't let re or kicker fanboys cloud your judgement. Just get a custom box made, the sub Is only 25% of the car audio set up. But personally get some tens due to the space.

If you get a sx w/ the 1606d, get a d2. It'll handle 12-1300w fine

as stated before i plan on building a custom box at 2cu^ft after displacement tuned to 33hz
