Yes, but a good SQ system is only as good as the sum total of its parts. If any of those parts fail to perform in a comp, it kills your score

according to maxxonics website that amp does 550@ 4 ... 1100@ 2 and 1600@ 1 ... what impedence where you plan on running it at to get 800w...3ohms?

Sorry, I didnt see what amp you were talking about till I read the OP. Yes, I have used the 1606d. Very good amp for SPL. I wasnt very impressed with the SQ, but it pounded my RE SE 10's. And it never got hot, even when running it at full tilt for an hour.

I forgot to mention that it is very easy on the electrical system too.
