I see Kicker get bashed on this forum alot, which is cool because it is a forum afterall. Anyhow, I'm an older dude, but I still like my music to have good, deep bass and my Kicker CompR ported with 300watts works for me. I think it gets pretty **** loud, and drops pretty low for what it is personally. This is the 2015 model CompR with stitching added to the surround, not the 2013 model. Im not sure if that does anything, but Im very surprised at how this sub sounds.

I know there are better subs out there, soundqubed, skar, DD, Sundown etc. But for someone like me looking for decent low end that gets pretty loud on low power, Kicker works for me. Just sayin..........

If your happy you are happy and thats all that matters but kicker gets bashed on every forum for a reason. Ita cheap built chinese junk that you pay for an establihed name. Like jl audio, they get bashed because their price its stupid expensive. The equipment is really good BUT only worth about half what it actually costs. But like i said if your happy your happy. This forum is against kicker and your for it, well remove yourself from the forum and go to a kicker lovong forum. Surround yourself with people who like what you like.(not literally telling you to leave but you get ghe point) but like i said before if your happy, well so be it im glad you found a spot you like and the bass bug didnt get you.

This is the main thing (in bold). Also, I do agree that the price is a bit high on Kicker and JL.

Ive owned both, and yes JL has better SQ. They are quite a bit more expensive than Kicker too. I like the CompR. Was skeptical when I purchased it, but it sounds about as good as the JL I owned. *shrugs*

Indeed. I've seen top of the line subs in trashy homemade boxes that sounded terrible.

Ive owned both, and yes JL has better SQ. They are quite a bit more expensive than Kicker too. I like the CompR. Was skeptical when I purchased it, but it sounds about as good as the JL I owned. *shrugs*

Not everything JL is worth it. The high end stuff is. It's still made in the US and they do R&D. JL also has MANY SQ titles and they are very active in the community.

They werent. Kicker had its own sentence saying they were chinese junk, and jl had its own sentence saying thats its good but worth half the price. Two sentences, two seperate ideas.

Only overpriced if you pay retail. That goes for everything

That being said, I mid or high end model from "soundqubed, skar, DD, Sundown etc." on decent power in the right enclosure will blow you away.

It's all how much you want to spend. Food for thought.
