the system consist of 4 subs,3amps,2 sets of components,2 batteries under hood and 2 batteries in the back

the kicker pkd1 amp kits comes with

# 20 Ft. 0/1 AWG Power Wire

# 3 Ft. 0/1 AWG Ground Wire

# 20 Ft. 16 AWG Remote Lead

# Fuse Holder

# 300A ANL Fuse

# 2 Distribution Blocks

# 5 Ft. 4 AWG Power Wire

# 5 Ft. 4 AWG Ground Wire

reason i ask is im having a shop near by who has done work for me in the past and i want to buy the kits online but im not 100% sure how many kits i will need? by the way its going in a truck a gmc yukon denali

i think they are out of stock on the kit i need, but that does sound better..problem is im not what youd called a pro with wiring, so if you guys can give me an idea of how many feet of wire i need i can buy them and just pick up a couple of other stuff..

it all depends on the distances. Take some scrap wire (if you have some) and see how long the distance is between the front batteries and the rear batteries, then multiply by how many lengths you need in between batteries

measure distance from the battery to where your amps will be mounted, plus a foot or two for safety, and buy that much

then just figure out how many terminals you will need and whatnot

it never hurts to buy in excess though, if you have the $$$. you can always sell the extra on here.

i basically went and looked for everything the kicker kit gives you and it ends up costing $40 more..but thats not a problem if its better which i heard great things about them..so heres where im at

Kolossus Kable 4 Gauge Blue Power Wire

KND-23 KonFUSED Ground Distribution System

ANL300 Silver Plated 300 Amp ANL Fuse

KLM4BL KLM Kable 4 Gauge Metallic Blue Power/Ground Cable

KLM0BL KLM Kable 1/0 Metallic Blue Power / Ground Cable

KOL1/0BL Kolossus Kable 1/0 Blue Power Wire

fuse holder

total $144

so far now besides the 1/0 g wire which i think i will end up needing about 100 feet minimum can you guys give me some opinions on how much of what i'll need?

now i havnt used the fleks cable form knu, but the kolossus is no where near as good as the kicker, my opinion is get the kicker kit and then grab extra wire form KNU, i believe the kicker kit has that exact specs for like 80$, kicker is a far superior wire compared to the Kolossus

*i have both in my truck and hate using the KNU wire if i can help it compared to the kicker*

i just dont see spending almost double for no extra benefit, i use the cheap 1/0 knu wire for the big 3 and it works perfect, would hate to have to run it in my truck though

you gonna need atleast 3 sets of RCA's(16or so depending on the vehicle) and probably some splitters and short RCA's(3ft or so)

get like 10 or so crimp on terminals for which ever size wire you use, probably 1/0 and some 4ga

what you need to do is just draw everything out on a piece of paper and just write down what you gonna need to get signal, power, ground, and speaker wires for each amp, then go get a tape measure and measure everything out giving some extra incase of trouble

you know how rockford fosgates site has that wiring wizard where you enter how many subs, what voice coil and it tells you which ways you wire in ohms..is there something out there that allows us to enter amount of subs, distance.batteries and will gives us a estimate of now just how much to pick up, but what to pick up?

ok im sure i got the wiring done on what i need, im going to pick up some other stuff that i know i need just dont know how much of each...so maybe you guys can help me out heres the items

0 awg fuse holder

4-8 awg fuse holder

distribution blocks

300 anl fuse

the kit i am buying comes with 1 fuse holder,2 distribution blocks and 1 300anl fuse..im sure for my application im going to need more so if you guys can give me some numbers i would greatly appreciate this...also for those who havent read or know its going to consist of 4 batteries total, 2 in the front and 2 in the back and 3 amps 2 mono's and 1 4 channel amp..so i hope this helps..thank you guys..

Assuming the rear batteries are next to each other, then you don't have to fuse them.

You will need 2 1/0 fuses for the + run from front to back. Another if you want to fuse the Big-3, another two fuses if the batteries under the hood are on opposite sides.

You will not need distribution blocks, because the batteries in the rear can be used as such. Additional fusing on the amp wires if you would like to be safe, or if the amps require external fusing.

Therefore, 95% of your wiring should be 1/0. Add in how much wire you think you need for each amp, depending on their location in relation to the battery.

1/0 wire should be ordered as such: 2 runs front to back (+ and -) I would use bumper to bumper as a measurement here. Assuming your batteries in the front are on opposite sides of the hood, then, if you can get a straight shot safely, do 2 runs (+ and -) of the width of your car. If you need to go from the front left, to the firewall then across, then back to the front right, factor that into your measurements.

Big-3 is another addition to your wiring. 1' for battery to ground, the other two are very car dependent due to different locations of the alternator and grounding strap.

ok my total for wiring is $915..****..lol

heres what it looks like

2 kicker power distribution blocks-$70

2-50foot spools of 1/0g kicker wire-$500

6-kicker 300anl fuses-$30

7-kicker 1/0 and 4g fuse holders-$245

40feet of 4g power/ground wire-$70
