somewhere where it doesnt damage anything.
and no a whole will not allow wire to pass through, try a hole.

try to find a grommet around the firewall and go through there

have some one look at the other side while your drilling from the inside so you dont drill into any hoses or wires.

it would help if you listed the car you have, maybe someone here has one and knows where there is an opening to run the wire.

I ran my 2-AWG into a grommet that was for... uhh... honestly, I don't know.

But it was a small wire with a big hole. So I took an oppritunity to it. You just have to look around your firewall and start poking through. It's good to have a buddy. If not, a screwdriver works, too.

I'd try looking for an available grommet before you try drilling any holes. Where do all the wires from the under hood fuse box enter the car?
