Kicker or Knukonceptz

I assume your not competing so it really does not matter. It's not like one is drastically larger/ better than the other.
In all honesty, just go w/ what you like/ want. I don't believe one will give you more DB's than the other. If that was really a concern, you should be using two runs of 1/0 cable or one 4/0 cable instead.

I would personally never put the Kicker wire in my engine compartment or run it under my car just because of the outer jacket that I don't like but again, that's just my opinion. I think the Kicker wire looks very nice and I will most likely only use it to hook up my amps from the distro block to the amps but that will be it. The Kicker amp install kit is a nice little kit and is decently priced for what comes in it.
I have 4 runs of hyperflex under my hood and don't have any problems. There is also a spot where all the runs are about a 1/2" away from the valve covers on the engine and it hasn't even phased the jacket on it.

The 1/0 is REAL COMPLETE. It comes with crimped and heat shrink wrapped ring terminals, the power wire has a protective cover over the wire, has TWO distribution blocks for multiple amps, has speaker wire, zip ties, spade terminals, all kinds of nice stuff.

Definitely one of the most complete 1/0 kits out there.

About that kit. It says it does two amps but it looks like on the distribution block one amp gets 1/0 and the other gets the 4ga and only one run going to the battery. Is that safe for my app? (US AMPS MD3D and US AMPS MD42)?

wow, never heard anyone ever concerned about the wire jacket. Funny, i'm sure team kicker and alma gates uses hyperflex, with no fire issuesi i think you're a little paranoid there buddy. kicker wire also has a heat sheild for the wire that goes under the hood. Kicker comes with a nice fuse holder, a 300 amp fuse, two distro blocks, and also like mentioned 4 guage power and ground. I got mine for $100.00 cdn. Sorry, i thought your reasoning for getting the knu wire was funny. Oh yeah Kicker ftmfw
For you and anyone else who commented on my opinion.

See, that's why it's called my opinion and not scientific fact just like I stated. I assume Team Kicker's main team has dedicated audio vehicles and then personal transportation but who knows. Why should they be concerned w/ causing fires on long trips, on there hunting lease or anywhere else that may leave them stranded w/ no one close to help them out. I never said anything about it's fire rating, just that I was a little concerned w/ the outer jacket being somewhat soft. Not all of us have their mommy that can come pick us up when something goes wrong w/ our vehicle. Some of us travel quite a bit and drive long distances in our vehicles and don't want to be second guessing some wiring or anything that could leave them stranded.

I will say it again, it was just my opinion. I think the Kicker wire is good wire just as I stated and I also think the Knu wire is good wire. Hell, I think Lighting Audio, Streetwires and a fews others are good wire for that matter. I do think Kicker is just a tad overpriced but people will pay what the market dictates and good for Kicker at the marketing the wire to be high $$.

I'm not going to argue w/ you about my opinion because that is dumb. We will both be blue in the face w/ no resolution. Now if I said the US was better than CA, that would be a different story because I stated that and did not say it was my opinion.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Everyone has an opinion why they use a certain product over another. You will hardly ever find actuall scientific proof that one thing is better than the other. I believe I stated that in my post about one not really being better than the other but again, maybe you can't comprehend what I wrote.

If you really need to tie your wire in small knots, then Kicker is the best wire for that but who really needs that. Maybe you need to lay it in small figure 8's, or small "S" fomations, again Kicker wire would be my choice. I will admit again like I stated before, the Kicker wire does look cool if that counts.

I have over 300 feet of Kicker wire ran in my car..8 runs to the back...and I'm on Team Kicker, and I use my vehicle daily. There's nothing wrong with their wire at all. Causes no problems with the wire shielding in an engine compartment.

What is the individual strand size of each wire, 30ga, 33ga, 36ga or what?

Like I said, I personally just don't like that fact that I can cut into the jacket of the Kicker wire w/ my finger nail and not the Knu. I don't see a problem w/ it if it were secured correctly, like I'm sure you have it but way too many people just lay it over things.

If it's 36 and the Knu is 36, the Knu is actually larger then because it has more strands?

One thing I noticed about the Knu wire today was that if you bend it real tight and then straighten it out, it distorts the inside and sometimes leaves an air gap/ void between the wire and the jacket from the inside.

I guess the moral of this whole thread is just buy what you want/ like/ think you need.

no disrespect, but your logic makes no sense to me. i understand your opinion but it doesnt make sense. Thats like saying i would rather drive a honda then a porsche because the porsche has a lower performance tire and that could melt easier in the hot sun on long trips, which is obviously not true. An opinon can't be argued, but what your saying is not an opinion, you're concerned that because the jacket is soft it could be a fire hazard, which is false. Your opinoin would be more valid if you didn't mention the possibility of a hazard but stated you prefered the knu wire cause the jacket is thicker.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Ok, just for you. I like the Knu wire a little better because of the outer jacket construction.

Your making it sound like I said the outer jacket on the Kicker wire will cause a fire and that's not what I said. I am concerned w/ the wire grounding out because of exposed inner wires if it were to get cut. I fuse everything correctly, so in all actuallity there should be no damage to my amps, fires or shorts. I stated that I am a little paranoid when it comes to stuff like that, I know more so than others.
