if you had more cash i have a alpine mrp 2000 that would slam that sub ,it would give you the over head needed not to run the amp hard ,and you'd stll have more power if needed for more subs

If you could find out what it was... that would be great. 1) I'm curious what amp he wants 500 for... two, I'm curious if it's worth it.
How much did you spend on the kicker?

I paid 180 for it in the enclosure, the amp he had was an audison

Not true. This L7 is rated 1000 Rms and comes D2 or D4.
