Kicker KX1200.1 ?

alright i got a new car so i sold one L7 and im having a custom slotted port box built for my remaining L7 and im thinking about selling my current amps and getting the kicker 1200.1 to power it, the 15 is dual 2ohm so i would be running at 1ohm mono to the amp....i was just wondering if anyone has used this amp and had any bad/good comments about it. ??

the cheapest i have found so far is $405 plus $20 shipping and that included the 1/0 ANL style inline fuse holder and 150 amp fuse which is like $50 worth of extras.

Well.....I don't think its worth that much.....there are plenty of good/better amps that put out the same power for less....check out the 1000+ Watt Amplifiers thread....

i dont think 400 is too bad i need a 1 ohm stable amp too and the 1200.1 actually output is usually over 1400

you're right, the birth sheet on my 1200.1 is 1460w. i haven't had any problems with this amp...

cool sounds pretty good to me...have any of you used it at 1ohm and did it stay stable and not shut off during high volumes?

i have it at 1ohm to my 2 dual 4's in parallel... it hasn't shutdown from the time i got it...

it soudns a good deal for me, cuz u prob gettin ANL fuse holder n fuse n all the stuff u need included in the $420.

not bad i would think. n they underrated.

The KX1200.1 is a very potent amp. I would reccomend it. They are solid, reliable, and are considerably underrated as has already been stated. The KX1200.1 or the JL 1000/1 will be my next amp, for sure. The KX has a subsonic filter. That is another plus.

I am running a KX1200.1 to my Brahma 15". Gains are at about half and the thing pounds pretty **** hard when i have my volume at like 12-14 (Alpine CDA-7894). Subsonic filter (as was already mentioned), stackable, lots of protections circuit stuff so the amp is not likely to blow, just likely to shut down till you fix the problem. Where were you looking to pick one up for 400? Got mine for about 80 bucks more than that. I am happy, though if I were doing it again, I would definitely look at the elemental nine.1, all depending on if you need the extra 450 watts or so.
