I;d drive 45mins for that. Seeing as though there isnt even a circuit city in my city

its exactly 40 miles.. . if u drive with no traffic its fine but. . . . . . 40 miles in southern california traffic can be 2-3 hours each way.

As far as the HiFonics amp? That should work just fine. Get the Dual 2 Ohm versions, though, and run that amp at 2 Ohms. The 1 Ohm output might be a bit much for a pair of CVRs...

It was suggested to me to try one of these subs. I have an open air SUV, with a pair of 6x9s, and a 12" 1.2 cuft enclosure behind the rear seat. With a single sub, I'm guessing that a single voice coil is all I need. I'm not well skooled in the dual setup. I'm currently pushing the single sub with my Coustic amp, because my Directed amp sort of got wet in a sudden thunderstorm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Suggestions?

*edit* I'd eventually like to add a component system. Unfortunately the mids will be facing each other behind the front seats. Tweeters will most likely be mounted in the "A" pillars or behind me in the roll cage.

When discussing a single voice coil sub Vs. a dual voice coil sub one isn't any inherently better than the other.

They will simply require different wiring methods when looking to find appropriate amplification for the sub(s) in question.

Ergo ~ If you have a single voice coil 4 Ohm subwoofer and are running only one of them - you know that your amplifier needs to output X amount of power at 4 Ohms to power it.

If you have a Dual Voice Coil sub and each coil is rated for 4 Ohms then it gets a bit more complicated. That particular type of sub by itself can be wired to either a final load of 2 Ohms with the coils wired in parallel or a final load of 8 Ohms with the coils wired in series.

When you add two dual voice coil subs together it becomes even more complicated for the average novice just getting started in the hobby.

I just bought two from the CC near me, last two 2 ohm 12's they had. They bump alot better than my old mtx 4500's. Definitely worth it.

Is there a noticeable difference for the kicker 10" between the 05 model ($67) and the 07 model ($130)?
