in the last couple years, i've had L5's, L7's, CVX's, etc. i've always wanted to try a CVR cause i've heard they are so clean.

i sold my ZX750.1 and 12" CVX last week. i'm wanting to go with something smaller and just real clean. doesn't have to be ridiculously loud but i do want a good amount of thump and great SQ.

the amp i will be using is a ZX300.1 (makes around 370W RMS)

now like i said, i want to go with a small setup, so i was leaning towards a 10" CVR. but i don't want to blow the sub. the power handling is 300RMS.

on the other hand, a 12" CVR handles 400 so there's less of a chance of blowing it.

my ZX750.1 make 850W on my 12" CVX and it was overkill in my little hatchback.. so do you all think i will be satisfied with a single 10" CVR and the ZX300.1?

An amp that makes 370w is going to be fine on a sub rated for 300w RMS input. Keep in mind that even though your amp has been tested to output 370w it's not going to do it all the time....matter of fact on music it likely won't ever do that much at all. Realistically the only way to get full rated output from an amp is to feed it on test tone at wide open volume.

ok thanks for the input. i just hope it's enough thump for me. i think it will be cause my CVX was wayyyy too much (the reason i sold it) and it was turned all the way down. i'll be using less than half the wattage and going down to a 10 from a 12.

well i bought a 10" 07 CVR. just found out the 10s now handle 400 on this year's model as opposed to 300 on the previous model.

How did that one CVR 10" turn out? Sound any good? I just purchased two CVR102's that will be going into my RSX.
