newb question, 1 12 ported, 2 12's sealed

i know this is a newb question, but from what i understand, depending on various parameters conditions, etc, porting a sub yields a 2-3db increase, or roughly 2X as loud to the ears.

Does adding a sub make about the same effect?

I have one RL-P 12 with 800w ported in a 1.6cube box to low 30's, and i am considering two 12 diamond m6mkII (D6) subs that i would have about 550w going to each sealed (to save space). I have read these subs are very similar in output and SQ, but in my trunk (intrepid) i need so much more sound in the trunk to get it into the cab.

with the same amount of power on tap, and talking about the same sub (not different ones)...

if you had 1 sub, and you add in a second sub, it will yield a 3 db gain i believe.

that being said, i cannot compare the rl-p to diamond audio as ive never heard or owned any diamond products.

thank you for your help, however, please read my post clearly. I said i have one RL-p, and i am thinking about getting 2 diamond subs. Obviously i figured it was implied that i wouldn't use the rlp any longer if i got the 2 diamonds.

Diamond audio is nice, most of my speakers have been diamond audio, started with 2 12" d1... then 2 d6 12" diamonds and then my new system which should be here within the next 2 hours (is a kicker setup)..I love diamonds and hate to stray away from them, but I've had kickers and diamonds... every diamond sub i've owned has been loud, crisp and just amazing.. kickers on the other hand are bad *** SQ can be amazing and the loudness is insane (If you have the right box for sq/sql) get 2 diamonds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif throw the other one away
