kicker comp 15 or DC lv 2 15?

Kickers are all garbage. They don't take much more rms power than rated. They are owned by Sony now, that should say something. Go with the DC.
haha...... ok. i still have no problem buying kicker, as long as i get a good price, and have use. just picked up a cvt a few days ago, actually. they just took a back-slide in quality over the past 5years, or so. they are not what they were, but same goes for most of the big brands. handling and inspecting brands, such as jl, dc, kicker, alpine, powerbass, etc, there is very minimal build quality difference. comparable models of kicker vs. jl, the jl was pretty bad a** as son as you pick it up..... right up until you get to the coil........ so, i felt just fine paying less than half for the kicker. go get your hands on some different brands, all comparable, throw the idea and knowledge/history of each out the window, and just take a look at all of them. i think you will find that rockford has had the biggest quality dive of all, and that no-namers are gaining a bit more on name brand, then before. more importantly, you may not see kicker as total garbage, just not really quite as note-worthy. this is all speaking out of the bmf range. that being said, the c-series comps are entry-level, and should be viewed as such. that amp would be pushing it on a c15, if you are honestly giving it 300rms for periods. and, rebuilding/repairing is also a factor if you are going to be doing that.

Yeah ok i won't get the kicker. And this question never got answered, but i went to the DB site and didn't see prices, but they were looking really nice.

DB Drive K315D4 15 Okur K3 Series Sub

DB Drive DBDK515D2 Okur K5 Series Subwoofer (15" Dual 2_)

i almost lmg'd you, haha........ elan, pull them stitches and i'll take you up on that offer ftmfw!

about a lower power sub will perform better on the same amp vs a higher powered sub, it's not exactly that black and white. generally, you will find that to be the case when you build an enclosure to the sub, since a 2kwrms sub's built to control more force, than a 500wrms sub, so the higher powered sub will likely never reach it's full range and break in completely. however, it is not the same for all manufacturers, and you can change up the box specs so that the sub will operate to it's mech. limit on lower power. the t/s parameters can give you a good idea when you see this. it's more of a rule of thumb, and a reason to match rms power between amp and driver, or get as close as you can. i personally over-power them when possible, but i don't blow my brains out over smoking a $500 sub.

yeah that makes sense. I was gonna do that to the kicker, because i know a lot of good subs can do way more than what they're rated for, but apparently not kicker. Yeah but i'm liking the prices on the DB, although DC are pretty much the same. Still undecided here.

well, imho, dc seem to be a slightly improoved os rf, and db looks to be with current tech, using what i believe is the best cone shape, among other things. i'm not saying to go be the guinea-pig and see how good they are, but i am curious if they are as nice as they seem. it's up to you.
