DD 9512 vs. DC lvl5 12"

Just curious. How would these 2 subs compare? The level 5 seems like the magnet is nearly twice the size of the 9512's, but the 9512's can do some serious work.

How would they compete SPL wise? SQ? Which drops lower?

im gonna have to say DC on this one because DD doesnt know how to make there specs realistic

from my experience with my DD 2512 and my DC XL 18 I'd say the DC will sound much better but DD's are notorious for getting stupid loud even though they don't look like they should be so loud.

the 2 1008a's in my pic get retarded low on such little power. Hooked them up to an amp in my room and only on 100w each (rated at 400w each) they were shaking everything in my room when playing the low note in white girl..

i've obv. never played with any high end DD's so I'm just wondering how they will hold themselves.

If you're searching for other peoples numbers and what not I'd talk to cthedinger and jbizzle on here. I know both of them have experience with one of each (cthedinger with DC and jbizzle with DD)

someone on here got quoted like 275 for a 2512 from DD. I paid 250 for mine through a dealer in NC. Look up H.O. Audio on here and see if he has any.

yep. if you aren't afraid to spend the couple extra bucks on a DD you won't be disappointed. got a kid at my school who brags about the 2 12's he has. on about 1/3 the rated power, my DD's get just as loud as his 12's and drop way lower

They will drop low in a box tuned to 38hz, I loved it. Now if I had them at 35 it would have been great. My 2512 is louder than 4 Audiobahn 12's in the back of a Tahoe. That guy was pissed.

But he was the kinda guy with a flamed out, lifted Tahoe with orange spinners.
