kicker amp question

nope, both are 2 ohm stable, both can play into a 1 ohm if voltage/impedence rise, but for safety, run both at a 2 ohm load.

the correct answer is cosmetics.

from what ive heard they have the same board but the zx's are a little more underrated. could this been because of a few better quality components used on the boards? who knows. might be a good thing to ask kicker. there may bea good chance that they are the exact same amp pretty much and its just a cosmetic change......i'd imagine for the price differance theyd at least be giving you some better quality things in it. but yes same circuit boards.

my kx 2500.1 takes 1 ohm (.7ohm dcr) daily, 20-30min at a time full tilt, off a low as 11.8v sometimes, and barely, barely, barely gets hot. gets really warm at most sometimes. i think ive gotten hot once, and that was probly me just turning the gain knob too high on accident.

kx uses a 12db lp crossover slope and the zx has a 24db lp crossover slope.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thanks Polecat, I guess both will work for my needs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ohhhhh.... I had planned to wire the cvx's down to 1 ohm, by what you are saying above should I be wiring the KX1200.1 with dual 4's down to 2 ohm instead of 1???

I believe the earlier kx 2500.1's were 1 ohm stable, then went to 2 ohm
Polecat may know more about this ?
you're wrong, there is now early kx2500.1, they were all 2 ohm stable, but with a good electrical you can run them at 1 ohm.
