The shape of a 4x10 isn't the problem it's just speaker manufactures don't take them seriously because there not in big demand. Look at an L7 it's square and produces a lot more bass than it's round counterpart made by the same company. Look at compression horns very accurate for the range they produce and Monsoon and Infinity make some flat speakers with little or no moving parts that are rectangles. Round speakers are just old technology what people know how to make most manufactures are just lazy to make something new and diffrent even if it may be better

Still no excuse for Xtants - pentagon or octagon whatever the hell shape they are - what they call "subs"...they just bite.

Lol...theres a guy around here - he has 4 10's in the back of his Suburban...it sounds like shit, and 1, say, 15" Brahma, Shocker, or XXX would kill it SPL wise.
