Kicker 06 ZX15001 or Sundown SAZ1500d

Has anyone ran both of these amplifiers in the same conditions? I want to know which one was more efficient. And both amplifiers being ran at their desired ohm load. The sundown at 1 and the kicker at 2. I know the sundown ran great with no dimming at all on my car. This really comes down to which amp is more efficient. So if anyone can chime in on this that would be great.

The difference in wattage output between the two will be very little. What needs to be determined is what you are going to do with the ohm load situation. Both amps have a solid track record. The kicker has top mount controls and the Sundown has put up some great SPL numbers so far.

Put it this way, both are very good quality, backed by top notch companies. I personally would get the Sundown because it is visually all business and can be ordered below MSRP. I have first hand experience with this amp and have read plenty of positive reviews.

Well price really isn't much of an issue. I have 1400 dollars to work with for one sub, an amp, and a deck. And i wouldn't have to pay for the kicker it would just be sent to me. But if i don't get the kicker i would have to then order the sundown.

I'm powering an HD315 off a sundown @.75 daily and it gets warm at best. Around 1750 watts at that load. Solid amp. I'm going to buy another soon and strap them to the HD.

You near Gurnee/Six Flags as you're welcome to hear it?

if you are going to either run the kicker at 2 ohms or the sundown at 1 ohm, i would say get the kicker, more reputable company, great customer service. the difference if any in power wouldn't be noticeable. I have the zx1500.1 running at 2 ohms with a yellow top in my trunk on a 80 amp alt with no dimming, pretty efficient.

Thanks yea so it seems like these amps are pretty close in the comparison chart. I guess it just comes down to what i wanna get. I'm not sure yet. I mean sundown makes a great amp and if i ever upgrade i can get another one and strap them. I'm not sure yet what i'm gonna do but from the sounds of it i couldn't go wrong with either amp that i pick.

i would get the kicker because its a higher voltage unit...plus it looks much sexier imo
kicker much sexier than sundown //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif.. my opinion exact opposite

Yea i really like the looks of the sundown, but that isn't why i would be choosing the amp. I'm choosing the amp based on overall performance. I will be calling the insurance company tomorrow with my decision cuz they are closed on memorial day. So i guess its still up for grabs. I'm gonna see what kind of settlement they will give me for the headunit and subs if i take the kicker. And if i don't like the settlement then i'll just take all the money without the kicker amp and i'll purchase a sundown.

I chose the Sundown. Because it meets my needs, it fit my price range and the owner of the company took a lot of time to help me out. It may be odd, but I like to support the "little guy". Both are great products, it all comes down to which meets your needs better. I do believe the sundown will be obtainable at less cost than the kicker, authorized. Furthermore, Jacob even posted in your thread, an owner that makes himself that accessible to his customers, has to be a plus.

I would buy the Sundown (I did, 2 in fact), but you will most likely be pleased as punch with either.

Efficiency is going to be darn near the same on them. The SAZ-1500D is 75-78% efficient at 1 ohm (measured) -- it doesn't get much better than that for full output efficiency at 12.8 volts supply. At most it would be +/- a few percent, nothing noticeable to the end user since their output is also nearly the same at their rated loads.

I've made my decision guys. I have chosen to go with the sundown again. It was a great amp before and its gonna be a great amp again. Thanks for all the help everybody and i will get some pics up when i receive all of my new gear.

You wont be dissapointed with the Sundowns. I ordered 2 instead of a kicker 2500.1. The Kicker is badass... I only have good things to say about them. The Sundowns are an absolute beast... RAW & Clean power, and very efficient. I have a local dealer here that is part of team sundown and he answers all my questions and has helped me get everything right.

I bought 2 RE SE 12's 3yrs ago before they were really well known, and i like going with up and coming product that not everybody has. When I got my Weekend car I got re sx 15's and I havent got it metered yet, but it WANGS with gains set at the halfway mark

Yea i wish i could go with 2 sundowns but the electrical only allows one for now. I need a new alternator, but i would have no clue on how to install it. And i don't feel like paying someone alot of cash to do it. So i guess i'll be sticking with one sundown for now.
