Kicker 06 ZX15001 or Sundown SAZ1500d

Should i even risk it running it under 2 ohm because it will void the warranty on it. The kicker amp will be brand new with warranty.
oh then nah i wouldn't recommend risking your warranty no telling what can happen. it's pretty much a toss up now, flip a coin or choose which one that looks best lol

Yea i'm just in a dilemma. I loved the sundown and i heard the kicker was great also. I might get more power out of the kicker because the birth sheets usually read around 1700 at 2 ohms.

i have spoken in the past with a few members on team kicker and have been told that they got 2000-2300 out of the zx1500.1 at 1 ohm. I have yet to hear anyone who blew their zx1500.1 at 1 ohm. My friend has his ran at 1 ohm but he also had two batteries in his trunk with 0 problems. at 1 ohm they will draw some current though. I would get the zx1500.1 and run it at 1 ohm. If i ever get rid of my Mag's, whatever i get will end up with a final load of 1 ohm so i can run my zx1500.1 at 1 ohm. I was skeptikal about running it at 1 ohm but i really want to now, especially since my friends has had 0 issues

call me crazy, but im sure if you did fry it , the kicker technicians would be able to tell you ran it below 1 ohm
while on the other hand, sundowns are warrentied below 1 ohm, given you have sufficent electrical to back it up
I thought they stopped that warranty under 1 ohm load thing... correct me if i'm wrong

why is everyone so gung ho about running amps at lower loads than they are are meant to run at? buy an amp run it the way its meant to be run and let that be the end of it.

with that said, go for the kicker, run it at 2 ohms and be happy.

What features does the kicker have that the sundown doesnt and vice versa? Sounds like i won't go wrong with either one that i choose so i guess i really got a decision to make.

excuse me, i meant 2 ohm for the kicker...
and you might be correct on the running below 1 ohm for the sundown... but i thaught it was only for .5 and below... sundownz could clear this up
They used to be warrantied at 1/2 ohm but all amps sold after March 31st no longer carry this coverage. I really didn't have any failures at 1/2 ohm but I did have people setting them up on bone stock electrial systems calling me asking why it goes into protection. It was simply too much of a hassle despite having a FAQ up about 1/2 ohm operation and the electrical requirements little attention was paid to that information.

I'm curious as to what voltage Kicker does their birth sheets, usually they are 14.4 volts from what I have seen which doesn't mean a whole lot -- I'm not saying the Kicker amp is bad, it's not, it's really quite good. But a 1700 watt birth sheet at 14.4 volts doesn't really mean anything, just assume it's pretty dead on at 12.8 volts -- which is what you'll really have unless you have a HUGE alternator.

I'm sure you won't see Kicker recommending 1 ohm operation, there is a reason they say to run at 2 ohms!

Well seeing that i've experienced quite a bit with the zx2500s, i can tell you something about these zx models. They don't like 1ohm unless you have the backup. When i say backup, it means a HighOutput Alternator. I had a redtop upfront, big 3 done, 1/0 throughout car, yellowtop in the trunk, and the zx2500 didn't like it @ 1ohm. It goes into protect when you raise the volume higher. When you roll it back down, it play fine. but once you turn it up, it goes in and out of protect. I decided to throw on another yellowtop, so the total was two yellowtops, redtop, and stock alt. It held a bit longer, but the amp still went into protect. So unless your getting a HO alternator to keep up strong voltage, don't bother running your zx1500 @ 1ohm. you'll thank me later when you saved your amp from frying. The amp is strong at 2ohms. I thought to myself " imma lose alot of power wiring this amp to two ohms. I usually like to wire my amps lower to compensate for boxrise/resistance, but unfortunately this amp made me run it at 2ohms. I was impressed at how much output this amp has at 2ohms nominal

So are you saying that the sundown will put out more than the kicker. If the kicker is ran at 2 ohm and the sundown is being ran at 1 ohm. Which one will put out more?
