can i run 8 guage to this amp??

mm thanks.. does anyone know if it may work anyway or will it cause a fire hazard or something... is there any 500rms amps that i can run at 2ohm??

8 is plenty for an over-rated 500w amp - regardless of profile's recommendations.

It's a bit of a marketing scheme on their part IMO -- a way of saying "This amp is so powerful it req's 4 ga!!" -- well...it's not, and it doesn't.

i ordered a profile amp that recommended 4ga wire but its fuses are two 30A fuses. 8ga is rated to ~80A so i'm just going to run 4ga to a distro and then 8ga to each of my amplifiers and then still be well under amp loads plus plenty of fusing to protect it all.

the only thing i was concerned about is that the profiles have 4ga. setscrew terminals so the 8ga. may not seat properly. i guess i will probably fold some strands back on the 8ga. to make it thicker so it fits tight in the terminal.
