Nope, two positives and two negatives per sub

so they did not wire the subs down inside the box...

Waste of wire, but OK...If you cant trace each wire from the amp to the plugs on the subs you will need to pull them out to check phasing.

I can find the positives (blue) and negatives (silver) for each sub... any way to do that "test" with four sets of wire instead of two?

Not really a point with how you have it wired...

Just follow each from the amp to the sub and make sure they are sired right.

What are the coil configs on the subs? I'd like to see a pic of how the amps were "strapped" I think that might just be your issue.

just patch pos w/ pos neg with neg on 1 battery, or 2 diff batteries, one per coil

Well, the smoke wasn't SMOKE

It smelled worse than coil, and I swear I saw a VERY little amount of white smoke come out of the port

I wish there was someone here that was like that

Robin told me to drive up there and get it done... but that's a 10 hour round trip drive... not driving long distances for a while after this weekend
