I currently have 2 12" Compvrs on a BX1500D@2ohms (900watts). They're in a 1.8 sealed fiberglass box Each driver. They sound ok but for my taste I want more... So i was thinking of getting 2 L7's 12" with one BX1550D running each sub, and building a prefab box 2.5 each @40hz tuned.

Would venting my current VR's sound "alot more" then what they are sounding now. I know it hard since all system are different . but Sealed Vs vented (kickers).. ? any advise? or should I just get the L7's and be done with it..

Note**I just got a new 160amp Alt for my car with wire upgrades too so iam ready for an upgrade

My CVRs got a huge output gain when I built ported boxes for them.

And you dont "build" a "prefab" box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

After I posted that i thought maybe you were referring to building a box out of the kicker manual //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

PORT EM!

alright i'll port them. Its going to hurt to take out the sealed fiberglass box. (my first fiberglass box - hours of work)..... Thats right 40$ at most to build a new box.... and if anything I'll just get the L7's

any way to add ports to the existing box? you would always add an external port unless the box is oddly shaped....or what about adding a aero type port?
