i'm not going to join in this. i know you are knowledgable. but i'm not going open your eyes to the missing link. if you feel that you don't know it all and there's more to learn, you will search it out and find it.

I agree. The other subs have always missed the link that DD has figured out. In some ways I wish they would figure it out because they have figured out how to make more affordable woofers, but their woofers aren't as good....So in the end do you want the best, or the other options? I someday hope for the best being the affordable option, but it simply hasn't happened yet.

it's just that. they are more "affordable" because they cut the corners that others won't. sure, you can get pretty good product from them. and it's suitable for a lot of people.

cheaper and inferior parts and labor, and a production line where if the glue machine runs out of glue,....... it just keeps spitting woofers out, the poor misalignment geometries in the gap.

i hope they never grasp the concept. cause if they do, they'd just be knocking off (stealing) someone elses hard work and ideas.

ANYONE can come out with thier own line. those chinese build houses are like subway for speaker parts. you walk through pick out this basket, that cone, this surround, and make up your own label. sure you can get them to "custom" make something of your design. but is it that sandwich going to be better, or just different than everything else made at subway.

DD isn't for everyone. but they are the one everyone else tries to follow or equal.

You're dreaming. Apparently you don't understand how speakers work at all. One DD 8 can't out displace one RE 8, let alone two. You best try understanding speakers a bit better before making such stupid claims. About the only thing the DD might best them at is bass farting in a high tuned ported box. Its performance would be quite inferior in all other respects. Its not my opinion, its the undeniable logical reality of physics.

1 displacement and XMAX is so overrated its a waste to even argue it among the net.

2 just because they have a higher displacement doesn't mean they will use them.. acceleration is KEY to output NO MATTER THE APPLICATION.... thats one thing DD's engineers understand and they do a great job at it... if you hear the new 1500 and 2500As you would like them if its not your "taste" you WILL respect them. if not you really know nothing about speakers... people see lower Xmax numbers a get scared... or a low VAS and say its inefficient.... the 2500s will do excellent in 1.75 tuned to 28 just give her some port area and some power and she will STOMP anything in its price range in output and still sound great...
