just wondering... crossover placement

just wondering does it matter where i put the crossovers for my component speakers? because my components have adjustable crossovers so i wanted them exposed. i put them in the trunk with my amp then wired the speakers from there. is that ok? or is it better if i place them closer to the speakers? oh yah i have a small car i drive a liftback yaris so its not like its miles away.

yes that'll be okay. I think the owner's manual would've told you that.
