Just wanna make sure I have enough alt

My stock alt is 100a. I'm 'setting up' (as money flows in) vga1600 with a 12' xxx, and eclipse 3424 (fused for 20a? - not sure the amp rating on the vga). The 3424 will be running 2x100 and the vga 1x1600. Think the 100 stock alt will be able to keep up or will I have a need to upgrade?

I'm also going to try and get a bat in the trunk and when I set it all up, big 3.

your stock alt was ment to run your car accessories.. nothing more. It can handle a little extra strain, but certainly not that much. Do the Big 3 upgrade, and see where you are after that. I still am not sure if an extra battery helps or hurts your electrical system, but whateva. You may want to get a larger capacity battery, so that when your alt can't keep up anymore, the reserve in the batter can take the slack, and you wont have to worry about serious voltage drops.

Yeah. Big 3 then go from there... I was thinking the battery to keep cables more organized so I didn't have to run more than two wires to the trunk but now that I think about it, I might as well just skip the battery.

I was told earlier that all 3.1 front wheel drive alts should be the same so I might head up to a junk yard and see what I can find. At most, I'm guessing I might find a 150.

if you can get a 150 for cheap, go for it... if not start saving for a really big one!

Think like 150-200 for what I'm planning? I'm not going to be doing more than what I have planned.

if the basic alt was only meant to handle car accessories and nothing more, then I doubt the big 3 will give you magical amps.
