Just installed Pioneer DEH-9400BH, SW output settings, -24 to +6?

I just came from a Kenwood X995. On the Kenwoord, the SW output settings are -15 to +15.

Is there any reason why Pioneer is -24 to +6? Are these just numbers? They both equal to 30 total adjustments. Does this mean -9 on the Pioneer, is equal to 0 on the Kenwood?

The reason I ask is, SW output on the Pioneer seems lower. Maybe I was just tired when I tested it, but having the Pioneer on -9 seems much lower than 0 on the Kenwood.

This is all after setting my gains with a DMM.

Yeah thats because 0 is equal to 0, not -9

Maybe pioneer just does that to limit the SW gain/attenuation on the deck, to avoid distortion and clipping.
