I went high end with my girls' system... 4 Pioneer Blues 5.25", Power Acoustik PS4-200, Scosche Dual amp Install kit, Pioneer GM-7200, and My old Kicker CVR 10"

also to add to this...

check the impedence on the factory speakers, they are 10 ohm. I am sure those Duals are 4 ohm. They may sound fine at low volume levels I betcha they start sounding like $hit at higher volume. I owned a Saturn SL2 and the factory speakers sounded pretty **** good.

Okay. We can all agree that he cheaped out on the purchase. We can all agree that Dual is not now and will probably never be included on any list containing an assortment of high-end car audio manufacturers.

Will a $16 aftermarket speaker sound better than a crappy, paper-coned (and detached from the surround to boot!) OEM driver? Inarguably.

He didn't buy this stuff for you - he bought it for his g/f.

According to his account of the whole situation she's tickled pink with the end results. SHE'S the only one that has to be impressed to any degree here so stop giving the guy flack for trying to do something nice for his lady and spend as little as possible while doing so.

I replaced my girls front GM componet set with some arc audio coaxials. She is fine with them.

Me on the other hand, would took both of them clay shooting.

The point is...the goal of any audio system is sounding good to the user. I can say that some of yalls systems sound like crap because the bass overpowers the mids and highs and some of yall would say mine sounds like crap because it doesn't flex my windshield.

Upgrading is upgrading IMO....but I dunno if you are gonna get any kind of bass out of that 6.5". I might have tried to spend a fex extra dollars on that tang band 6x9 sub.
