Just inherited a car and need audio ideas....

My aunt just died and left me an 87 Chevy Caprice Classic that is mint with 45K miles. I'm gonna keep it and use to keep miles off my 350Z but need some suggestions and all the stock audio equipment in it is less than ideal areas. The front speakers are located up in the dash, they are 4x6 with only about 1.2 inch clearance. The 6x9s are located in the rear deck. The doors do not look receptive to components (bummer) without heavy modification.

What would be the best thing to do? Alpine type S 4x6 will fit in the dash and their 6x9's will fit in the rear deck. How do you think this would sound if I installed a low power amp to power them and another HU? Worth the effort? Any other ideas?

dang, sorry to hear about your aunt man..

that's a niice car though, i've always wanted one of those.

i had alpine type s 5x7's in the front of my car, they got pretty loud off of 50 watts to each side. they're a little bit harsh sometimes, but with a little tuning you should be golden.

I don't even know what you mean by jackhammer but if it's that MTX sub, I can't do that. In fact I doubt I will put any subs in it. Was wondering what the bass would sound like through the 6x9's with an amp to them.

You need to get "In memory of "Insert aunts name here." In old english lettering on the rear window.
