Just got the info for my new apt next year, what do you guys think?

If your parents are paying for it then go with what ever is nicer and more convenient for you. I assume you wont know any of your roommates right?

no, i don't know anyone at all going to this law school. The thing is, my law school starts in august, and i don't live in Florida yet, I live in MA. It would be a huge hassle for me fly down there and then quickly find a lease to get onto. Plus, the school's in Miami, so i'm not sure how anoying it would be to have to drive to campus. That apt i posted is about a 10 minute walk to the law school building though. So basically, doing this apt right now is the safest thing, but it's not the smartest thing because i could probably find better houses but they wouldn't be on campus w

If its a nice new complex. Then 800 per month with the utilities isn't a bad price.

Currently Im living in a 780sq foot 1 bed 1 bath apartment right off of campus in a good neighbor hood. And I pay 550 per month plus utilities. So with a 130 dollar Digital Cable/High Speed Cable internet and a 140 dollar Electric bill...I'm right over 800 bucks per month.

i mean there are some perks living in this place that might balance out the price with off campus housing. The leases are individual, meaning if one of my roommates decides to bail on rent, im not responsible whatosver, i only owe my own rent. We all get free parking which seems nice. If i was off campus or anywhere except this place, I would have to buy a parking pass, and also the idea of living with random people and if someone skimps on rent, we all have to cover it kind of scares me

yea it's pretty new, they finished building it last fall, so people have only been living it in for 1 year. I'll be the second generation of students to get to live in it.

800 a month per person is dumb. You could get a better 1 bedroom for the same price and not have to put up with any other douche bags. I am looking at a 1 bedroom 1.5 bathroom $825 and its ~900 sq.ft.

Jesus christ 800 a month for what looks to be a 12x12 room FTL! I mean I understand it might have a lot of conviences and what not, but I am glad I dont have to fork over that kind of chedder! I do like the whole having your own bathroom, but dam!

Edit, it is Florida and I know what Floridas cost of living was like, so I guess that is about right, but still..........

if you can walk to class, have "free" campus security for your car, and its fairly new, for $800 I'd take it down in MIA. However, you could get "more" for the same, but it would be off campus and you would have to drive which=gas $ and hassle.

when i was florida the 4 of us lived in a smaller apartment. we hardly spent anytime at home so it was no big deal. why must you consult ca.com with all your decisions in life? i could care less if you live in walmart, under I-95, or float on a raft everyday to cuba
