Safe way to receive money

I am selling my rims and whatnot on a different forum. I left my e-mail and we negotiated on a selling price and he said he would overnight me the money.

I don't trust paypal as I have seen where people reverse charges and whatnot. What is the safest way to get the money?

I am thinking postal money order or certified check. Are there any cautions against them where I could get scammed?

Paypal is safe if you clear the money out and wait till its in your bank account then send the item. Or MO is pretty secure too. I would think the only way a MO wouldnt be safe was if it was fake.

Postal money order is the safest route you can go. Plus if someone does try to scam with a postal money order its considered mail fraud as well as a couple other things. So the authorities will pay a lil more attention to the situation.

People say that a Money order is unsafe which might be, but with a POSTAL MONEY ORDER/Restricted Delivery, that is far from the truth. Have your buyer send a PMO with restricted delivery. Restricted delivery is about a $3 charge, but the only person that can accept the package is the intended receiver. Your wife cannot accept it, neither your child, nor your neighbor. Best of all is that they are not allowed to leave it at your residence/mailbox if you are not home. Then take your PMO and cash it at the actual post office. No way to fake that, as it get's scanned before you get your money.

And yes people can make "fake" Postal money orders!! I've had plenty of my friends receive the fake money orders in the mail, and go and cash them at the bank and end up getting arrested for counterfeit money orders. So the safest way still stands as Paypal!

I don't think they would instantaenously arrest you. They may just refuse the money order. In which case, you just wouldn't ship.
