just got my hdc315 one question

i just recieved my AQ hdc3 15" today, but i noticed that the cone area looks different from other pictures ive seen, im sure its fine, it just looks different than others.

Did you buy this brand new?? Dj said that his HDC3's are built with different spiders, coils, and glue than the Copper HDC3's from China.. Maybe that is the reason??

yup brand new, ive seen others with aluminum coild pics around the site they seem like the cone goes all the way in the spider, but mine sticks out a little more, i wonder if they changed it a little or not. it looks fine i just wonder why its different.

Nothing is wrong with your sub. The new aluminum coil versions use a dif suspension package then the copper versions. The spiders attach lower on the former then the copper coil version. The cone/former glue joint is made on the INSIDE of the cone and is much stronger then making the glue joint on the bottom of the cone. This eliminates any possibility of the cone/former glue joint cutting spiders.

This design seperates the spider/former glue joint from the cone/former glue joint for obivious reasons. All glue joints are done by hand.

i hope so, i still gotta build the box. before this sub i had 2 15 l7 that got loud but i didn't like them that much, i had them in a 10 cu.ft box and it took up most of my jeep, i went with this so i could still get loud and keep the back seats.
