Just Got In Some New Image Dynamics Sickness! Yeah Baby!

they actually sound realy good just dont cross them over no lower then 80hz... i found they do well 80@12db any lower then that and u cant get any volume out of them without them breaking up

Interesting... On the board they were quite clean down around 65hz @ 12db, but I did not crank on them hard as I am more sq than earbleed. Will let you know how they turn out in my system. Will definitly give a very detailed review.

Since you wouldn't respond to PM =/
I wonder if you could talk a little more about the output/sq vs the IDMAX. I think you said somewhere you actually like the SQ of these better than the IDMAX? They just weren't as loud.

Also, how have those DLS amps been treating you, did you have just one IDMAX on it before or two? That does 1200x1 @ 1 right? I may go with the exact same setup, just trying to decide what amp to get. I can find the DLS on ebay, unless you know a better place, otherwise it's back to the drawing board. Too many 1200w amps out there.

Sorry you wrote quite a novel of a pm and have not had time to respond. Bouncing airports again today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif On the way to vegas as I have a presentation to do at the conagg convention. For a quick reply...

- I have not had time to do any serious listening with the IDQ's. What I have heard so far I am very pleased with and can already tell the frequency responce seems to be more mellow than the max's and extend just a hair deeper. Will know more later this week when I am home and can spend a few hours in the car. Also I ran 2 idmax v3's. Not a single.

- The DLS ultimate series is one of the best amplifiers in all forms I have ever used hands down. I have never been a fan of class D for sub use so DLS was a natural choice build quality, output, footprint and measurements. Also yes the a6 has been tested to greater than 1200x2 with a damping factor of over 2000 & THD below .003

- With ebay you run the risk of purchasing a fake. Some places are legit. I would advise you contact DLS directly to find a retailer close to you.

I was pretty wary about it myself, was just a thought, pricing is good there, but I'm much rather buy from a place reputable. The A3 is just a bit too small for my purposes. But for kicks, how much do you want for it?
The a3 twin mono has also been tested close to 1200rms @ 1 ohm. But for sub use the a6 is a better choice with a dedicated cooling fan, remote gain and phase as well as it was specifically designed for subs with the massive damping factor & mono design.
Only downside is if your a basshead there is no point to running DLS unless you want to beefup your charging system. They are super power hungry. It is nothing at all for the a6 and dual a3's to pull 150-180amps when cranking it. At shows unless I am plugged in, I can kill my battery in no time at all.

i will also jump in here and say that i agree about the Easy imaging in the Scion tC. the factory spot for the mids are pretty **** good. the factory tweeter location i don't like, but tweeters are very very easy to stick in the kick panels. this car is very symmetrical. the dash is almost identical from left to right. not a huge hump for the instrument cluster either, which would make it also a good car to do pillar mounting with tweets or even maybe mids. the bottom of the dash is the same height on each side, the kick panels are identical.

i am using a lot less expensive stuff and my setup still sounds great and images VERY well. it's very high, wide, deep and centered, and was pretty easy to accomplish.

so this setup should sound amazing once dialed in.

It sounds amazing now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif But this new tune is gonna take some time.

awesome man. i really do like it a lot. so you're doing pods in the doors? i would like to see that.

also, what kind of electrical upgrades have you done to support all this power you have?

Jesus. Well, I have beefed it up, but I don't think I have that much. I have a HO Alt and a better battery, but 180a is a lot of draw. Guess I'll have to look into other options...

I look forward to hearing what you think after further listening. I think I'll probly end up going with the 2 IDQs, because I think they will give me the best of both worlds, more so than a single IDMAX. The IDMAX would however afford me a smaller footprint than the 2 IDQs combined, but eh, I still come out ahead over the Fi's.

Yes glassing in pods on the doors in the general area of the stock mid.

Redtop, 0ga to ground & block up front. I have no need for anything else as I am not really a basshead. At shows playing music and movies loud, it does just fine and is holding up with the motor running or hooked to my DC supply as I do not play any constant tones / just dynamic frequencies.

You know you can paint the baskets on the V3 IDQ's! how cool thats gotta add some SQ!

Did I miss the pix..?

Keep us posted.. I really liked what I heard at CES..

Im sure your car sounds sick..

Very nice car. Impressive install. Keep the pics coming as you get them.

Your review of the IDQ's is making me reconsider my sub selection when I upgrade. I had my sights set on a pair of IDMAX 12's, but now may have a new option.

Keep up the nice work.

P.S. - my wife got me a new head unit for my birthday. Gotta luv the special ones. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
