OK. Im running an orion 2500d amplifier with two 15" Kicker L7s DVC 4. I know orion is already a little too powerful for these subs so I want to set the gains properly. I dont understand how I get the voltage that I want. For example I only want to give these subs about 1000watts rms or a little more (1100). How can I achieve this running them @1ohm? Im running stock eletrical system. 130amp alt and a 630 cca battery. Can anybody give me the number that I need to set the DMM to read and how you got that number? Thanks

if you want to send 1000 watts to the subs at 1 ohm, look for the AC voltage of 32 volts. With an amp of that caliber, I'd give it a little more juice... say 1500. In that case, set the voltage to 39 volts. It's your call.

1500 to L7s when the rms is 1000? I already blew them running at .5 ohm. I dont want it to happen again. I just want it to be loud and reliable.

clearly you lack the knowledge to run them properly. Read the gain setting tutorial in the Amplifier forum.
