i just got this installed for $510

JVC Arsenal KW-ADV64BT

i didn't get speakers yet i wanted to see how much the SQ improved after just getting a head unit...ended up making quite a big difference. came with bose speakers, which i know isn't anything special, but for now they will do. (suggestions on some decently priced speakers that would be better than the bose stock?)

also i had this in my old car:

Kicker CVR12 COMP 1600W 12-Inch Subwoofers with Sub Box (Pair) (400 watts RMS each) an alpine type r is 500 watts rms if you want to compare it to something

i was thinking about putting just one of those in my car since it's a hatchback and a smaller car, i figured one would suffice. any suggestions on a box or placement of the sub will be appreciated. and i'm thinking ported so i can get that deep/low bass

i'd prefer to not take out the spare wheel. i might need it. what about the box that sits under the sway bar? i also saw some that sit in the corner but they might be too big for that being a 12" and i don't wanna rebuy any subs/amp

here is what he did, single 12'' sealed and even then says to much bass for what he wanted.

edit: and you know you can't fit your fullsize tire in your car after you put the spare on right?

did not know my full wouldn't fit.....what about the encloser that sits under sway bar and points backwards? no good? that would still give me storage space.

10's fit under the sway bar, 12's don't. let me get a pic from my buddy who has a 12'' in a 350z
one 12" won't fit under the sway? i thought i've seen eclosures with 2 12 spots in them

the 12'' versions actually stick down past your false floor. I think it's exactly 12'' in the middle. you will have to stick it past the strut brace enough to fit a 12'' most of the box will be under the brace but the sub itself won't.

I'd say sell those and get a good 10" that is pretty efficient and doesn't require a large enclosure. The kickers require extraordinarily large enclosures to perform optimally, and then aren't very good still. And since they're Kickers, you'll have no trouble selling them on craiglist or fleabay.
