Just bought this for about $106 shipped

hmm. My amp is the Clarion 11551 DPX AMP. So 8 ohms is probably 400-500 rms?
Supposedly underrated too. The box says 1550 @ 2ohms. so almost 850 rms @ 4 ohms. Then 450rms @ 8 ohms (if it can handle the load capacity like that)
Your amp will run MUCH easier and more efficient at the higher impedence load, but yeah, 400W ish. (actually super low impedence is what's hard on your equipment).

FS is free air resonance, has little or no relation to how low the sub plays, it's used with other parameters to predict the sub's performance.

Again, the second 18 looks OK, has a decent sized motor, sturdy looking basket and a 4" coil. IF you have the 100$ to gamble try it out then if you have a solid box for a single 18 build you can grab something different and compare.

I'd say pyle makes bad stuff, but they really don't make anything, they just slap their name on whatever they can get really cheap from China. The problem with those type of brands is that most of the stuff they sell with their name on it is total garbage. You may find a decent quality product from them now and then, but odds are better than not that you'll be disappointed.

Thanks man for your input. I'll actually be getting this one though since I've just found it. I'm pretty sure this is the biggest one that they make and it is very similar to the 18" version, except it has a lower frequency i guess

EDIT:*Just for Fun*. I'm really curious how this thing will sound like

Amazon.com: Pyle PL1890BL 18-Inch 1800 Watt DVC Subwoofer: Automotive

I'm pretty sure this sub is not going to be a breathtaker. But I'm really curious how it would sound like on my amp setup. Does anyone have this type of subwoofer? It was only about $106 shipped.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif

EDIT: Amazon.com: Pyle PDW18125 18-Inch Performance Optimized High Power Subwoofer: Musical Instruments

Canceled the other order. This one has a larger voice coil

I just need to know where can I get a box for this?

Is there anyway to figure out what the "stroke" is on this subwoofer? I might just buy the 21 pyle for now and buy the Incriminator Audio 21 for later since it will fit in the same box. Praise the lord

You are either an idiot or you're trolling.... or both.... most likely the latter

I've read reviews about those 18-21" Pyle Pro subs, saying they're nowhere near as efficient as they are listed, and that the excursion is a joke.

I wish Mark would bring back the MJ-18, now THAT was the best bang-for-buck 18 I have ever heard. I honestly wish I had never sold mine.

nice math.. not..
1550/2 is 775/2 is 337.5 @ 8 ohms
efficiency, efficiency, efficiency... If an amp is more efficient at a high impedance that means it will create more power with the same voltage. If it was all the same efficiency then that amp would do 1900 wrms @ 1 ohm which is double the 2 ohm load.
