Question About Kicker 0415L7s

I ended up gettin' these subs on a DEAL! - $100 for " 2 " Kicker 15L7s .... The black coned ones. I'm just guessing that they are the 03-05 model. They are currently in a sealed enclosure - And the girl said that they had just stopped beatin' 1 day & she took'em out cuz she didn't want to mess up her car ( HAHAHAHA! )

... Come to find out - the TINSEL LEADS ( 2 on one.. & 1 on the other ) snapped from the cone.... So I got my solderin' gun and got to work! Now that they are working... 1 of the subs' voice coil is rubbin' pretty hard... But it beats like crazy! ( Question #1: ) Is there ANYTHING that I can do to eliminate the voice coil from rubbing? - I had that problem before, and I played music at a low volume, and it went away... But the difference between this sub from that sub is that it doesn't even play at low volume... But as soon as I crank up the volume it gets going... ( Partially blown? - I don't really know - any advice on that - Thanks in advance )

 

NOW - The other sub is PERFECT...

... If there's nothing that can be done for the 2nd subwoofer... I was gonna put this one in a Custom Built Ported enclosure and sell it. ( Question #2: ) I'm not really familiar with the older model kicker L7s... I'm very experienced in building enclosures... Just not very experienced with THIS model subwoofer. If any could tell me what HZ to tune this sub to for OPTIMUM SQL - or even HOOD BANGING - ( I'm in the hood - you know how that goes - subs that rattle buildings and move air and break sh*t are in high demand )... Please let me know. The enclosure that I'm goin' to be putting it in with be:

38"W x 14.5"H x 24.5"D - 7.96cuft externally ( Based off the Probox SuperBass Ported Dimension for the Kicker 12L7s ( Dual subwoofer enclosure ) - it just won't be tuned @ 50hz like Probox... I don't know if that box will be TOO larger for this subs - I'm doubting it do to the fact that it's a 15 and I think kicker says it go up to a 7 or 8 cuft. enclosure....

 

... If anyone could help - It would be GREATLY appreciated!

 

PS: The Model # on the Subs are " Kicker S15L7 "

if you are using l7's for sq, you are doing it wrong. build/buy a ported box on the cheap and sell it on craigslist. hell u could do the same thing with the one thats rubbing. 16 year old kids on cl wont know the difference.

I'm gonna build the enclosure, so that's not a problem...

... But I'm not into screwing over people - I have a business name to uphold.

Honestly - I can tell you that whoever buys these sub is gonna use it for rattling the sh*t outta there vehicle.

... So that's why I added the " or Hood Beating " into the equation.
