Junky Stock System= Need to upgrad. Please help

Your pick is fine. You defiantly will be able to turn your music up louder than before, but there is a distortion point for any set up. It just gets higher (in volume) depending on what you do with your system. The stuff you picked is fine though. It'll sound much better.

sounds and looks nice but guess I would want 4 good speakers instead of jsut 2 but Im still looking

Thanks for the input. I know theres gonna be distortion but its got to be a hella lot better than stock

Don't worry about good speakers until you can afford to put an amp on them, no deck ever will put out enough power to properly power a speaker, after hearing an amped speaker and one off of a deck you will never run a speaker off your deck again.

I would get the best deck I could or a cheap one and a a 2 channel amp and a decent set of components but thats more like $350-400.

What would a brand of 6.5" speakers would be decent to go with an amp?

pioneer ftw!! $123 and free shipping.. If its not in stock they'll just give u an upgrade at free cost.. ocs.com is good people

a good HU does wonders

and my jensen sucks for sound.. but its a kick *** lookin screen LOL
yeah thats what I heard too but just put it in there for price estimates mostly.

Im just getting all the feed back for a kickass system $300 can buy you know?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Also what if I were to just get new speakers and an amp for it? would that be better and keep my stock headunit and my cassette adapter?

1st off.. a good Hu is best investment!! so $150 HU would be my 1st buy.. Then check classifieds for the amps/ components/coaxils.. Mostly in good shape.. good ppl.. and good prices... can find something for most budgets

OK gotcha. But now the question is how to tell a good headunit from a bad one besides price?

Buy a cheap amp at the same time you buy your speakers, used would work well. A cheap 50 dollar amp that does 50 rms per channel will be miles ahead of HU power in terms of sound quality...

Is an amp really all that crucial? thats whats killing me in price for geting it installed. I can do the headunit and speakers. Might take awhile but i can figure it out.

if your low on money now, just get the HU and speakers, then amp later. There WILL be a BIG difference.
yeah. Is there an amp that will power both speakers and a sub? Will that save me money?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Right now I would definitely avoid an amp until you can do it properly. Get a nice used HU off of the classifieds and get the best 6 1/2s u can afford up front for the time being. That'd give you the most bang for your buck. DONT get that pioneer 1900, get the best HU you can afford b/c getting a junky HU now with bite you in the *** later on (happened to me).
