Junky Stock System= Need to upgrad. Please help

Hey all. Right of now Im driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee(Stock in every possible way). Im realllly use to my Mom's Mach1000 system in her mustang which Im not allowed to drive anymore now that I got the Jeep. My Jeep...straight up **** in that category. My **** computer speaker system is better than it. I was seriously considering buying a power converter and puttin them in someway

Anyways to the point. My problem is I have a cassette adapter for my iPod that I use with my stock headunit. I cant turn anything up to loud cause it freakin distorts. I was wondering if it would stop distorting or not as bad so I can atleast crank up some good tunes, I would change the speakers in the jeep. Theres 4 speakers at 6.5". OR would it be better to go and get a complete mini system which If someone could think up a quick one that would be great.

Heres the catch, Im low on the money so right now $300 bucks is pushing it put it that way.

What are your ideas on how I should fix this? Getting new aftermarket speakers will fix the distorting problem and I can fully blast music(if so what speakers), or get a somewhat decent system.

P.S. if this in the wrong spot I appolgize since it is only my 2nd post and i went into detail to try to help out everyone that might have questions

you can get a sony h/u w/ ipod cable for i think like 200.00-250.00. and then you would need a dashkit (bkcf2 bestkits) and a wireharness (bha1817 bestkits) for around $14-$15 each.. install should be free!!! unless it's less then 99.00 that gose for my shop so you would be just under 300.00 and it will sound quite allright on thosae stock speaker's till you can upgrade them..

should, if not your speakers must be blown or 1/2 disolved lol. take out the stock speakers and see how bad they look. if theyre ****ed up get some new ones with that ~200 you have left over

Alright Ill have to check into that and see what my local shop does...

But say if I just got speakers,like Polk 2way or Eclipse 3or4 way, and kept the stock headunit with the cassette adapter? would that stop it being from distorted at all? like headunit vs. aftermarket speakers. who would win in a battle for quality, clarity, and loundness?

Im just trying to understand everything to make a wise desicion.

a new radio will solve your problem untill you blow the factory speakers.

Ok so what about this mini set up

JVC In-Dash Player (KDG230) has aux

4x Polk 6-1/2" Speakers (DB650)

total cost of about $282.00with harness

you will have more distortion running higher end speakers off the factory radio!!!!

due to the factory haveing low output.... a new headunit's output will be about 50x4 ur stock is like 15x4 maybe.....

i see i see. I never thought of that before. Sorry:crap: but how would that head unit and speakers work that I previously posted?
