Juat installed amp and sub, need help

Before i ask this i just wanted to say i have no idea about the stereo or subs or anything about. I got a new amp and sub 1000watts insalled free by my friend. He said that i would need to get a cannister installed for my system because it is going to drain my battery, and he also said i cant use my subwoofer to the fullest (he said i can only have one plug plugged in instead of both or my system will mess up and that i have to keep my music low because my wiring is messed up that it could be grounded.) He said that his frend could rewire everything and add a canister for $150. Im sorry if this didnt make sense but is this a legit price? Im not sure on what to do. Thank you

No. Take it to a shop before you could possibly have a vehicle fire. For future reference, the "canister" he mentioned is referred to as a cap or capacitor.

The "normal" reasoning behind why your pal hooked up only one sub is due to the impedance of your subwoofers coils. If the two subs wired together equal too low an impedance (ohm load) for your particular amp, you will have an amp failure on your hands sooner or later.

Even if the recommended new wiring job utilized appropriate gauge or larger power wire, the low impedance will likely cause output stage failure in your amp. Take it to the shop with the highest review ratings.....by obviously more affluent customers than those that leave maximally abbreviated feedback.

Get a good battery preferably a deep cycle instead of a cap.

We used to charge $55 to install an amp at circuit city so yea $150 just to run a power wire is way too much.

If it includes the entire power kit 4 gauge or over and the capacitor and install then maybe but honestly the cap wont help it not drain your battery it just helps the amp get the power it needs.

Here is my view, take it how you wish. The fact that the kid is doing install related stuff on the side already lends very little to the likelihood that he has good judgement. I would never let an "installer" loose on my car outside of the shop he works at. Do you catch the reasoning behind that? He is jeopardizing his job by doing the same work on the side and yet he does it....that is called "a dumbfukk looking to be offered the chance to excel in another location".

Amperage draw is why a battery drains. A capacitor does not mitigate amperage draw of any given circuit.
