whats the point of the fiberglass and resin?just fopr deading or what?

Well the locations that there is matting and resin, provides extra strength to the structure of the box, the rest of the resin might add minimal strength, but I allways just brush a small layer over the bare wood becuase it makes paint look that much better on it.
